Counting down to Nederburg Auction 2015

Arriving at Nederburg last Friday for one of our last site visits before this year’s auction event, I witnessed the delivery and offloading of the boards that will become the floor inside the tasting venue on the 11th and 12th September.

This rather simple process left me slightly in awe of the massive preparation work that takes place annually before the event. The countdown has started!

Between now and the 11th September I’ll be sharing a few very short updates on this year’s event, including the charity auction, two-day programme, food experience, entertainment, dress code and of course the weather forecast!

For now I’d like to introduce you to this year’s very exciting keynote speaker, acclaimed writer and wine expert Robert Joseph, who will own the speaker podium for an hour on Saturday morning, 12th September. Named by Decanter magazine back in 1997 as one of the 50 people who would be influencing the way people would drink in the 21st century, Robert’s message will focus on the quiet revolution currently taking place that he believes will have a far-reaching impact on the wine industry of the future.
